Healing begins the moment we feel safe enough to be ourselves.

At JRA Counseling, I understand that life brings moments of challenge, change, and deep emotion - for children, teens, parents, and adults alike. I’m passionate about helping people of all ages feel seen, heard and supported. Here, healing happens through compassion, understanding, and genuine connection.

About Me

Welcome. My name is Joele Amster. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) specializing in helping children, teens, and families navigate life’s challenges with compassion and understanding. As a former educator I have found that there is nothing more rewarding than watching a child feel successful. I whole heartily believe that every young person deserves to feel seen, heard, and supported as they grow. My work focuses on building emotional resilience, improving communication, and fostering stronger family connections.

Whether your child is struggling with anxiety, school stress, behavioral challenges, or family transitions, I create a safe, collaborative space for healing and growth. I believe therapy is most effective when families feel empowered to grow together-so I include parents as partners in the process, supporting them with tools for connections, understanding and resilience.

Supporting Every Stage of Life

Therapy for Children

Play is a child’s language, and through play therapy, art, and imagination, children learn to express feelings, build confidence, and find calm. My role is to help children navigate big emotions, transitions, and worries in a space that feels safe and creative.

Therapy for Adolescents

Early adolescence brings new emotions, friendships, and questions of identity. I offer gentle guidance and tools for understanding feelings, improving communication, and building self-awareness.

Therapy for Teens

Teen years can feel overwhelming — with pressure, uncertainty, and the need to belong. Providing a space to talk honestly, explore identity, and develop healthy ways to manage stress and relationships is my goal.

Therapy for Adults

Whether you’re facing anxiety, grief, relationship challenges, or simply seeking growth, JRA Counseling offers a calm, supportive space for you to explore and heal. Through integrative, evidence-based approaches, therapy helps you reconnect with your strengths, values, and peace of mind.

Therapy for Parents

Parenting can be deeply rewarding — and deeply challenging. Learning from my own experiences I understand the importance of having support. My focus is to help parents to strengthen connection, improve communication, and care for themselves while caring for their families. Our work together focuses on balance, self-compassion, and emotional understanding.
